Are you making yourself shine?
A question full of purpose that invites you to write from your soul and out of the shallow path.
Hello 👋 I’m Candela Niesl and this is #6 of “100 Words Voyage”; a newsletter about writing, prompts, life, challenges and how to plan your next piece of art.
Every weekend, I aim to share with you a piece of myself and invite you to write your 100 words. Are you ready to go on this journey? Let’s do it!
My top 3 (not so) unexpected events of the week:
✏️ ODW came to its end. This outstanding experience meant for writers lasted 8 weeks. I took many workshops, was part of icebreakers in which I meat great fellows, and wrote like crazy.
If you resonate with these highlights, you can apply for the next ODW here.
🔮 This weekend, “Aprende Astrología” & Lu Gaitán hosted an astrological event and with the tickets each participant bought, they helped different organisations (you get to chose which one). My purchase is meant to help Equus Horses.
🎙 I got my invitation to be part of Clubhouse, but still, they don't let me in. Bummer.
The new section (not much to explain here)

Remember last Sunday when I wrote about taking pictures with meaning? Well, I tried to do my best during the week and here's the result.
Yes, I will frame this.
Have you taken any pictures with meaning? If so, I invite you to share them on your Instagram stories tagging me @candiegraphie and using the hashtag #meaningfulpic. (I'll be sharing them, for sure!).
🧜🏼♀️ Hello from Mar del Plata!
I'll be honest: I didn't know what to write about for today's newsletter.
I've purged my anxiety by sharing everything last Sunday (if you haven't read this piece, click here). And although I'm still kind of coping with it (you don't get to calm your anxiety from one day to the other), I now feel more like an empty vessel waiting to be filled with new experiences that go along with my purposes (or what feel like my purposes) rather than my "must do" chores.
I feel like a revolutionarist or something of the sort.
So, embracing the "empty vessel mode", here's what I'm going to fill myself with:
🌳 Environmental action. Have you seen what's going in the south of Argentina? Fires. Yes, everything is being burned down to ashes. Trees. Animals. People's houses and crops. EVERYTHING.
Did you take a look at how your country's politics are taking care of ecosystems? If not, I invite you to do so. After all, we only have one common home: Planet Earth.
It's our responsibility to question how we are treating this home and take action.
Have you ever put into words how being connected with nature makes you feel? Which is its role in your life? Do you feel is your responsibility to take care of your natural surroundings?
Wanna start to do something about this? A hint: ✍️.
💜 New book coming your (my) way with Inguz Editorial. I founded Inguz Editorial, an independent publisher, in 2017. We published our first book in 2018. In 2020, given the lockdown that took place in my country, we weren't able to print, so we published ebooks: here & here.
Through literary work, Inguz aims to help women that have suffered violence (we donate 15% of our profits to women's shelters) & we help the Planet as well (all our products are environmentally responsible).
Why I am telling you all this? Because this year we have MANY ideas to share with you. From workshops to book clubs, from new titles to new deals. But FIRST, a new book is coming and we are so proud I can't wait to share its first pages and theme with you...
Another hint: Gabriela.
When I founded Inguz and built the best team there is, I knew I wanted to do this for life but ignored which steps I had to take to get there. Am I going to take these steps and new chances this year? To be continued.
Before going to the next purpose, let me ask you: did you start that project that makes your soul jump off your body and clap you proudly? What are you waiting to do so? What did you wanna be when you were a child? Are you making that kiddo happy or, at least, smile?
✏️ I am taking action on my notes. In other words, yes! I'M WRITING MY FIRST BOOK.
First, let me say that I'm sharing this with you because like Camilla Läckberg said: "I've shared I was writing this book cause it invited me to commit more with my work, to live up to the expectations I was creating".
Am I afraid to jinx this? Well... I really don't know. What I know is that this journey is giving me the chills, the good chills, and I can't wait to share the first pages with you all.
If you were waiting for some Universe or divine sign to write your first novel or story or whatever, take this as one and put yourself up to the task.
So, this is me doing my best after my anxiety and emotional crisis. I'm trying to take action and put in motion things that make my heart wonder if it's just an organ or there's more to it.
I'm trying to achieve things that make me shine. And no, I do not mean the Hollywood star shine, (with all respect to Taylor Swift, we love you woman!). When I say "make me shine" I mean I want to believe in what I'm exercising. I want to believe that change is possible.
Tell stories, be aligned with me, and don't get lost in shallow paths (although if so, please help me come back from it to, at least, this moment).
Before finishing this sixth voyage, let me ask you: are you making yourself shine?
Here’s why you should write 100 words tonight:
🔨 Purge the negative thoughts that are going around and playing with your mind. By doing so, you will be introduced to a clear scenario and will be able to plan your next piece.
✏️ You need this. Writing about your life (like journaling), a short story or an essay helps to connect with yourself and what you want. Perhaps you have this outstanding idea but you realize that when you put it into words it’s not what you expected or it is what you’ve wanted and more. Write. Write. Write. And figure it out.
🚀 No one is too old or too young to begin its writing voyage. What are you waiting for? Put those words in action and let’s see what you come up with.
You don’t know where to begin? If what I’ve shared with you doesn’t inspire you to write, let me invite you to write to your youngest self. What would you tell your 5-year-old you if you had the chance to do so?
Before this voyage comes to its end:
If you liked this #6 “100 Words Voyage” but also enjoy the Spanish language, you can follow me on Instagram and also listen to my podcast, “The Unexpected”.
If you like what I do and would like to support my work, here you can invite me a drink in Argentina 🇦🇷 or buy me a beer if you are in any other part of the 🌎.
You can also share this newsletter if you think it would be of interest to any of your friends, family, partners or just casual people you meet out there.
Thanks for sharing this journey with me! I hope it inspires you to write your own stories and share them with the world. After all, is not that what are we made off?
See you next weekend 👋
Bon voyage!
